I stitched together a series of photos to create this panoramic image of the Hobson family plots in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Va. It just seemed like the perfect post for Halloween.

Sunlight gently warms the garden flowers and chases away the mist on an early fall morning.
Walking around the grounds of the Highland Meadow Vineyards on an early morning in September, I caught the sun beaming through the trees illuminating this fountain.
In every cycling event I’ve participated in, it seems like people ride in waves. I got the impression these six cyclists were actually two groups of three that just happened to be riding at the same pace.
This tree seems to own the end of this small island in the James River. With the slow moving Autumn waters it seemed like an appropriate time to photograph the tree and its reflection in the river.
I merged two separate exposures to produce an HDR image that retained some foreground color but kept the sky from being washed out.
These wildflowers already lost most of their pedals before I took this photograph. I wanted to capture the bright yellow of the flowers against the backdrop of the red vine leaves climbing the tree in the background.
The magnolia fruit is always an early sign of fall. The bright, warm color and soft texture of the cone contrast sharply with the dark, cool, shiny leaves of the tree. This one was framed almost perfectly between two leaves.
This panoramic photo was stitched together from 10 separate images taken at the Richmond Folk Festival on October 13, 2012. There were 6 stages hosting musical acts ranging from Argentina to Ethiopia. The scene depicted above was on one of the hills as a band named “Septeto Nacional de Ignacio Pineiro” played Cuban music. We arrived there just after watching Wang Li play the Chinese jaw harp. Needless to say it was quite a big event.

Pokeweed is such a colorful plant. With it’s pink stems, bright pink flower clusters, and dark blue berries it’s easy to forget it’s poisonous. It wasn’t until after I took this picture I noticed the tiny spider on one of the berries.
While photographing a tree on an island in the James River, I realized there was a Great Blue Heron perched on one of the branches. Pleased the heron was close enough for some zoomed in shots, I took several pictures before it flew away. This was my favorite picture of the bunch.
