Walking through the woods one morning I found this spider having breakfast.
I don’t know much about spider identification but I believe this may be an American House Spider (Parasteatoda Tepidariorum), also known as the Cobweb Spider.

What can I say about this photograph? When I saw this dog playing on the beach I knew I had to get its picture.
Up and on the beach early one morning in late August I watched these two sanderlings interacting. It wasn’t clear whether this was some type of courtship display or a standoff over which bird had domain over the beach.
These little crabs are so well camouflaged they are nearly impossible to see until they move. This one was busy digging when I spotted it. Each time it went back into in the hole I crept a little closer until I was able to get this photo.
Sometimes being a morning person pays off. I took this photo during a trip to the beach last August. I awoke before dawn and watched this amazing sunrise slowly transform into morning.
This female mallard duck rests alone on a rock in the James River as the evening sun begins to set.
I spotted this old camper parked just off the Creeper Trail in Damascus, VA. It once offered its owners a means for getting away and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Those days appear to be long gone but the shell of this camper still holds memories of past adventures.
This spider spun its web across the leaves of some aquatic vegetation and then sat, waiting behind a leaf for its breakfast to arrive.
